Loved this book! Reminded me of my days in 4-H! Although the girls are competeing for ribbons, in the end true friendships are formed and the show ring is forgotten. It is not about who has the most money, who has the best horse, or who wins the most. The main thing is the lasting friendships that are established!!Product details

Ribbon Chasers Barn Girls Book 1 Becky Rodgers Boyette Reviews
This book is awesome! If your daughter loves horses (and what girl doesn't), this book is for her. The author has obviously spent years in competition and knows how to relate to girls. The book has many good lessons about sportsmanship and friendship but is not "preachy". Buy it now and have it ready for summer reading!
This book has a good story, holds your interest, and is an easy read for young kids who are interested in competing in horse shows, or are just interested in riding horses at a riding barn. It makes it easy for them to understand that winning ribbons is not as important as how you conduct yourself and how you treat others. It would NOT hurt to have parents read this book as well, as children tend to learn their behaviors from their parents. I have seen melt downs at horse shows when a child does not win first place and is not satisfied with second place or no ribbon at all. This book is a good example of good showmanship and I recommend this book.
Here I am almost 50 years and I am in love with a book written for pre-teen/teen girls. Fine. I am not apologizing. I met the author at a joint book-signing. We swapped books and I automatically sat down and started reading hers. I couldn't stop. I drove the 2 hours back home and although it was late I quickly sat down to read more. I love it and while I no longer have teen-age girls in my house I want to read and have every single one of The Barn Girl series for my library. I highly, highly recommend this book for girls of ALL ages who love anything to do with horses and riding. Even if you're almost 50!
My daughter received this book right after it was published. Little did I know she would enter the world of horses and showing a few years later. I recently read the book to see what it was about. I was hoping this would be a series my daughter would enjoy. To my surprise, I really enjoyed this book!
This book is a great read for any pre-teen/teenager; however, if you are involved with horse shows, I would recommend the rider and parents read this book. It is a great example of good sportsmanship in a highly competitive sport. The writer does a great job of taking you through the shows and the emotions.
As a parent, I want to be an example of how my daughter should behave and compete in the future. I hope she will find a friend in the horse world similar to the main characters in this book.
A great message and testimony! I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out.

My daughter read this book over summer break and loved it. She couldn't put it down. Her final comment was, "Mom, thanks for recommending that book. It was great!" - age 10. She thinks it is extra special because she has a signed copy from the author;)
Cute story. More for Teens then Adults. Enjoyed it!
Her other books are more Adult oriented.
She writes very well.
I love reading books about my kind of life style (showing horses). This implies God in it also, which I think is great considering I'm a Christian as well. This book inspired me to do more in life with people who don't know Christ well or at all. I hope everyone else sees the point in this great book!
Great book - I love that I didn't have to worry about her stumbling on inappropriate content for her age. She is 10. She loves horses and has been showing them for years - nice to see a book written by someone who has been there done that and understands that sometimes the competition can create jealousy. My daughter is begging for the next book in the series!! Come on Ms. Boyette... get to work! )
